Why are you participating for Based India?
I am participating in Based India to help bridge the gap between crypto users and real-time data accessibility. With the growing number of cryptocurrency enthusiasts in India, many users struggle to keep track of live price updates efficiently. This project aims to provide users with a simple, yet powerful tool that integrates directly with their wallet, giving them instant access to the most relevant market data. By doing so, I hope to empower the Indian community to make better-informed financial decisions in the volatile crypto market.
What challenges are you focusing on?
The Crypto Price Tracker addresses key challenges, such as:
Access to Real-Time Data: Many users lack quick access to live cryptocurrency prices, making it harder to track market trends and react promptly.
Wallet Integration: Users often need multiple apps to track prices and manage their wallets. This project combines both functionalities, simplifying the user experience.
Price Volatility: In a fast-moving market, having access to real-time prices is crucial for making timely buy or sell decisions.
How does your submission address this challenge?
The Crypto Price Tracker simplifies the process of accessing real-time crypto prices by allowing users to connect their wallet and view live prices for their favorite tokens in one platform. The seamless integration with public APIs ensures users always have up-to-date data at their fingertips.
Project Description:
Wallet Integration: Users can connect their crypto wallet, and the tracker automatically displays the tokens held in their wallet along with live prices.
Real-Time Data: The app uses the CoinGecko API to pull up-to-date cryptocurrency prices in real-time.
Customizable Watchlist: Users can select and follow specific cryptocurrencies to track, even if they don’t hold them in their wallet.
User-Friendly Interface: The interface is designed to be simple and intuitive, allowing users to view token prices quickly and efficiently.

Enhanced Decision-Making: By providing users with real-time data directly in their wallet, they can make better trading or investment decisions.
Increased Awareness: As users interact with live prices, they become more familiar with market movements and learn to anticipate changes.
Time-Saving: By integrating price tracking directly into the wallet, users save time by not having to visit external websites or apps for information.
Additional Features
API Rate Limits: CoinGecko has strict rate limits for free API usage, which could have impacted the user experience.
Solution: I implemented caching mechanisms to reduce the frequency of API calls while still providing fresh data to users.
Wallet Integration: Ensuring the wallet connection worked smoothly across various browsers and devices was tricky.
Solution: I used widely adopted libraries like Web3.js to simplify wallet integration and improve compatibility.
User Experience: It was challenging to design an interface that presented a lot of information (prices, tokens, charts) in a clean and digestible way.
Solution: I focused on minimalistic design and iterative feedback to balance between displaying detailed information and maintaining ease of use.
