Learn, Earn, and Build on Blockchain

Why are you participating for Based India?

Blockchain and India – two of my greatest passions, and the Base India Hackathon provides the perfect opportunity to merge them. I’ve always believed that blockchain technology has the power to revolutionize industries, economies, and most importantly, lives. Being born and raised in India, it’s a privilege to use my skills to create something that can positively impact the local community while bringing people on-chain. This hackathon allows me to not only explore my love for blockchain but also contribute to the development of solutions tailored for the needs of the people around me. India, with its diverse and growing population, is a country full of potential but also faces many challenges. From financial inclusion to education, healthcare access, and transparent governance, there are countless areas where blockchain can drive significant improvements. For me, the idea of leveraging technology like blockchain to solve these problems is not just about innovation, but about making a tangible difference in the lives of people who need it the most. This event also aligns with my long-term vision of promoting blockchain education and awareness. Many people in India are still unaware of the true potential of blockchain, and through the solutions we create, we can demonstrate the value of decentralized technologies in everyday life. Blockchain has the power to provide financial sovereignty, secure identities, and create new economic opportunities for communities that have been left behind by traditional systems. I see this hackathon as an opportunity not only to build something impactful but to also play a role in bringing more people into the blockchain ecosystem. In conclusion, It’s a chance to give back to the community I grew up in, to solve real problems with cutting-edge technology, and to help bring more people into the blockchain space.

What challenges are you focusing on?

One of the biggest challenges I’m focusing on is the lack of awareness and understanding of blockchain technology in India. While blockchain has made waves globally, it’s still not a household concept here. Many people in India are unaware of its potential and benefits, and for the majority, traditional systems continue to dominate their thinking. Despite the increasing conversation around digital transformation, blockchain adoption is lagging behind. Unlike other regions where decentralized applications (dApps) are becoming more common, India is still in its early stages when it comes to exploring the full spectrum of blockchain’s capabilities. The challenge is not just the technology itself, but the mindset. Many people still trust old, centralized systems, and moving away from these structures can feel daunting. People in India rely heavily on traditional financial institutions and outdated methods of governance and verification, simply because they are what they know. Blockchain, with its decentralized nature and transparent processes, could offer solutions to many inefficiencies and inequalities. Yet, there is a gap in education and accessibility that prevents the widespread adoption of this technology.I aim to address this challenge by using Base as a platform to educate, inform, and onboard individuals onto blockchain. The first step is creating awareness, helping people understand the potential of blockchain to solve everyday problems—whether it’s through providing better access to financial services, improving transparency in governance, or creating new economic opportunities. The Base platform will allow us to build solutions that can be easily understood and accessed by the local community, making blockchain not only more visible but also more approachable for everyday users.Another challenge is the lack of decentralized applications (dApps) that cater to the Indian market. The ultimate goal is to bridge the gap .

How does your submission address this challenge?

My project, EduFi, is designed to tackle one of the most pressing challenges in India’s blockchain space: the lack of awareness and understanding of blockchain technology. You can't convince someone to use something they don't know or believe in, and this is especially true for blockchain. Many people in India are unaware of how blockchain works and its immense potential. Without proper education and awareness, the gap between traditional systems and decentralized technology will continue to widen. My platform, EduFi, is built with the goal of bridging that gap by educating, inspiring, and encouraging people to embrace blockchain technology.
EduFi serves two key audiences:

  1. People who know nothing about blockchain and are curious or hesitant to explore it, and
  2. People who have some understanding of blockchain and want to contribute to the ecosystem.
For those who are new to the space, EduFi offers structured courses and educational content that simplifies blockchain concepts, making them accessible to beginners. The platform emphasizes the importance of blockchain and DeFi, explaining how these technologies can impact their lives and communities. Education is the key to unlocking blockchain’s potential, and by providing step-by-step guidance, we want to make it easy for anyone, regardless of their technical background, to come on-chain.For those who are already familiar with blockchain and want to contribute, EduFi offers a space where they can create and share educational content. Educators can submit videos(Proof of Time) & in return, they can mint tradable NFTs as options , which can provide future financial rewards. This creates a positive feedback loop, where contributors are incentivized to share their knowledge, while also benefitting financially from their efforts. Moreover, the platform will enable users to create their own Base Names, providing them with a unique identity on the blockchain bring them onchain.

Challenges I ran into

On the non-technical side, one of the biggest hurdles was conceptualizing the idea. It took a significant amount of time to settle on a vision that would not only spread blockchain education but also encourage real engagement.I spent countless hours brainstorming how to structure the platform, what kind of courses to offer, and how to ensure they would have a positive and lasting impact. Designing the user experience—figuring out how the platform should look, how users should navigate through it, and how to make it both accessible and appealing—was a complex process. *technical side, I faced multiple challenges in deploying the project. Writing and deploying smart contracts was a major hurdle, especially ensuring the functionality of the *tradable NFTs.Also, encountered issues with backend integration and the connection between the frontend and blockchain components. Ensuring smooth functionality, handling wallet connections, and making sure that the minting of NFTs occurred seamlessly required multiple iterations. In the end, solving these technical challenges was a long but rewarding process, bringing EduFi closer to its vision of educating and empowering people with blockchain technology.

Additional Features

This project was built entirely during the hackathon, and while developing *EduFi, I also attempted to integrate language support. I specifically focused on adding **Hindi, as it's widely spoken across India, to make the platform more accessible. In the future, I aim to incorporate other regional languages like *Gujarati, Punjabi, Tamil, Marathi, Malayalam, and more, to reach the core of India's diverse population and ensure that blockchain education is accessible to everyone, regardless of language barriers. THE ADDITIONAL FEATURES ARE NOT FUNCTIONAL NOW

Cheer Project

Cheering for a project means supporting a project you like with as little as 0.0025 ETH. Right now, you can Cheer using ETH on Arbitrum, Optimism and Base.
